Outside the walls

Outdoor learning is a vital part of our school ethos, and we are fortunate to have wonderful grounds where our students can play, learn and explore.

At Beaulieu Primary School, we believe that outdoor learning is an essential part of a well-rounded education and our children benefit from a variety of outdoor activities that promote physical health, boost mental wellbeing and spark curiosity.

Outdoor learning plays a huge role in the way that we approach our Early Years curriculum, with daily time outside the classroom allowing children the freedom to play and learn while still immersing themselves in the natural environment.

Understanding the natural world

Lessons regularly take place in our new Forest School, allowing students to enjoy hands-on learning experiences in nature. Our school garden is used to plant herbs, and children learn how to tend to flower beds as well as create bug hotels. Outdoor play also plays a huge role, providing children with the freedom to explore, develop social skills, and build confidence in a natural setting. These outdoor experiences foster creativity, resilience, and a deeper connection to the environment, allowing our girls the opportunity to enrich their knowledge of the natural world they inhabit and have fun at the same time!
