The House
System

Healthy competition

The House system is a key part of school life at Beaulieu. It helps to encourage inclusivity, team spirit, and mutual support across the school community.

When a child joins us in Primary, they will join one of four houses: Frogs, Lizards, Lilies, or Orchids. Throughout the year, children participate in exciting House events such as House Music, Sports Day, and various team sports like netball, rugby, and football. Children also enjoy festive traditions, including decorating their House Christmas tree and competing in the House Easter Egg competition. These events foster teamwork, school spirit, and a strong sense of belonging, allowing every child to shine in a supportive and fun environment.

When a student moves on to, or joins us in Secondary, they are allocated one of three Houses: Durrell, Marie Louise, and Theresa. Being in a House provides students with opportunities to socialise, work in teams, and develop friendships across year groups.

We emphasise fostering a supportive environment where students can actively engage in a variety of House events. These range from competitive sports days, netball, and hockey to more creative events such as House music, dance, and drama performances, to debating and quizzes.

Our House System also offers valuable leadership opportunities for Sixth Form students. When a student moves on to, or joins us at Sixth Form, they are given the responsibility to lead their house in a range of events and fundraising activities. They play an integral role in organising and motivating their fellow students to ensure every event runs smoothly and that everyone’s efforts are recognised. Through this role, Sixth Form students develop important communication, organisation, and team management skills that make a lasting impact on their peers and the wider school community.
