Why Study Physical Education?

At Beaulieu Convent School, our Physical Education Department is committed to inspiring a lifelong love for sport, movement, and well-being in every student, from ages 3 to 18. Rooted in the school's core values of Faith, Opportunity, Respect, Challenge, and Endeavour, we create an environment where students develop confidence, resilience, and a positive attitude toward physical activity.

Through our school values, we encourage faith in oneself and others, fostering belief in personal growth and teamwork. Through a diverse and inclusive curriculum, we provide opportunities for all students to discover their strengths, try new activities, and develop lifelong healthy habits. We promote respect for teammates, opponents, and the broader sporting community, instilling sportsmanship and integrity in all we do. Our program embraces challenge, encouraging students to push their limits, embrace perseverance, and understand the value of effort in achieving personal and collective goals. With endeavour, we inspire every student to work hard, remain dedicated, and take pride in their progress, whether in competitive sports, recreational activities, or personal fitness journeys.

Through these guiding values, we aim to nurture a love for physical activity that extends beyond school, equipping our students with the skills, mindset, and enthusiasm to lead active, healthy, and balanced lives.

GCSE Physical Education (AQA)

Our academic pathway in GCSE Physical Education (AQA) and BTEC Sport (Pearson) allows students to deepen their understanding of the theoretical and scientific principles that underpin performance, health, and wellbeing. This complements the practical PE curriculum, ensuring all students, regardless of their chosen pathway, experience challenge, achievement, and personal growth.
