From Year 9, students at Beaulieu can take part in the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, an internationally recognised programme that encourages young people to challenge themselves, develop new skills and take on experiences beyond the classroom.

Across the Bronze, Silver and Gold Awards, students undertake a programme of volunteering, physical activity and skill development, alongside completing practice and qualifying expeditions. The Bronze and Silver expeditions take place in Jersey, while the Gold expedition takes students off-island, providing opportunities to explore new places, work as a team and develop independence.

The Award is valued by employers because it demonstrates qualities such as self-motivation, commitment, teamwork, resilience and independence. For our students, it is an opportunity to discover new interests, overcome challenges, make a positive contribution to others and achieve something they can be genuinely proud of.
