Learning without walls

At Beaulieu, Forest School gives our girls the opportunity to learn, explore and discover in a natural environment. Our dedicated Forest School area provides an inspiring space where children can get hands-on, follow their curiosity and learn through doing.

Forest School is about much more than being outside. Through practical, child-led activities, our girls develop confidence, independence and resilience while learning to work together, solve problems and take on new challenges. Whether they are building a den, creating with natural materials, investigating minibeasts or simply noticing the changing seasons, every session offers something new to discover.

Learning through adventure

Forest School encourages children to take ownership of their learning and develop skills at their own pace. Small challenges and practical tasks help them to become more confident in trying things for themselves, while working together encourages communication, cooperation and empathy.

Our girls learn to appreciate and care for the natural world around them, developing a sense of wonder and curiosity that extends beyond the Forest School setting. Most importantly, they have the freedom to explore, get muddy, have fun and enjoy learning in a completely different environment.
