Celebrating GCSE Success at Beaulieu

Today we are celebrating our Year 11 students as they receive their GCSE results, marking the culmination of three years of hard work, determination and commitment.

There is plenty to celebrate across the year group, with more than 20% of all grades achieved at 9–8 and 89% of students securing at least five GCSEs at grades 9–4, including English and Maths.

Once again, Beaulieu has also achieved a place in the top 10% of schools nationally for student progress. This is something we are particularly proud of, as it reflects the progress students make during their time at Beaulieu and is a testament to the dedication, expertise and commitment of our teaching staff.

Celebrating individual success

Behind the statistics are the individual stories that make results day so special.

Among the many students celebrating outstanding achievements today are Lara Claydon, who achieved straight 9s across her GCSEs, and Evie Dory, who achieved a fantastic mixture of grades 8 and 9.

Their results are just two of the many individual successes being celebrated across the year group, with students achieving results that reflect their own hard work, determination and personal journeys.

Headteacher Matthew Burke said:

“Results day is always a special moment, and we are incredibly proud of the achievements of our Year 11 students. Lara and Evie are just two examples of the many successes we are celebrating today, and we are delighted to see students rewarded for their hard work and determination.”

He added:

“Being recognised once again in the top 10% nationally for student progress is a fantastic achievement and a real testament to the quality and commitment of our teaching staff.”

Looking ahead to Sixth Form

For many of our Year 11 students, today marks the beginning of their next chapter at Beaulieu Sixth Form, where they will be joined in September by students from schools across the Island.

With a broad range of A Level and Level 3 courses available, our Sixth Form offers different pathways to support students with their individual interests, strengths and future ambitions.

Matthew said:

“Year 11 is a stepping stone towards whatever comes next, and we are looking forward to welcoming many of our students back into Sixth Form in September, alongside young people joining us from other schools. We are proud of the opportunities we offer post-16 and excited to see our students begin their next chapter.”

Celebrating Success

Today's results form part of our wider Celebrating Success campaign, which shines a light on the many ways our students succeed – in the classroom and beyond.

From academic achievement to creativity, curiosity, personal growth and the determination to overcome challenges, we believe success looks different for every student.

Today, however, is about celebrating our Year 11 students and everything they have achieved.

Congratulations to the whole Year 11 cohort. We are incredibly proud of you and wish you every success for the next stage of your journey.
