Excels at World Championships

World Championship Success

We are excited to share the incredible achievements of Sophie, one of our talented students, who has truly excelled in her sport, artistic roller skating. Many of you will be familiar with Sophie and her dedication to skating, and it’s with great pride that we update you on her latest accomplishments.

Two years ago, Sophie was selected to represent Great Britain at the World Championships. Unfortunately, the timing of the event clashed with her GCSEs, and she had to make the tough decision to pull out of the competition. However, this year, Sophie was fortunate enough to be selected once again to represent GB at the prestigious event, and despite having her A-Level Psychology exam, she made the determined choice to compete.

Sophie has returned home from the competition, and we couldn't be more proud of her dedication and results. When asked about her experience, Sophie shared the following:

"My World’s experience has been brilliant! I have enjoyed being able to do my sport at that level and still being able to come back for my exams. I came 21st and beat my international personal best, which I am proud of. I also beat last year’s British Champion."

To compete at such a high level and then return immediately to focus on her A-Levels shows an immense amount of commitment, time management, and resilience. This is a testament to Sophie’s determination to succeed both academically and in her sport.

Finally, we would also like to take this opportunity to express our thanks to Dr Thompson for the continued support given to our TASS students. The guidance and encouragement they receive are greatly appreciated, and it’s a pleasure to watch them thrive in both their academic pursuits and their sporting endeavours.
