Textiles Students Shine at Jersey Eisteddfod

Students in the Textiles department have been busy showcasing their creativity and dedication through their practical work for the Jersey Eisteddfod, the Spring Festival of the Creative Arts.

Their hard work has been rewarded with outstanding success. Ruby Le Couteur was recognised for the third year running, winning the prestigious Creativity Trophy for her beautifully textured kimono, which showcases her originality and skill through intricate fabric manipulation. Meanwhile, Poppy Pallot achieved remarkable recognition, not only receiving a Diamond rating but also being awarded the Premier Award for Junior Needlework & Textile Art for her eye-catching flower corset.

To add to her success, Poppy was also honoured with the Visitors’ Choice Trophy at the awards ceremony - an achievement that highlights how strongly her work resonated with the public.

We are incredibly proud of both students. Their achievements are a testament to their talent, commitment, and the high standard of work within the department. They are a real credit to the school.
