Team Phoenix Wins Top Prize in the Student Award Category
Beaulieu Convent School’s Team Phoenix has soared to success, winning the Student Award at the Digital Jersey TechAwards on Friday, 17th October. The event celebrated innovation and digital excellence across the island, shining a spotlight on the next generation of tech talent.
Team Phoenix impressed the judges with their outstanding work on a project that combined computational fluid dynamics (CFD), aerodynamic modelling, and creative digital design within the F1 in Schools framework. Their entry demonstrated not only strong technical understanding but also creativity, teamwork, and innovation - all key elements that define the spirit of the Digital Jersey awards.
Winning the Student Award, sponsored by Carey Olsen, is a huge achievement for the team and the school. It recognises the students’ dedication to mastering advanced digital tools and applying them to real-world challenges, a skill set that is increasingly vital in today’s fast-moving tech landscape.
This victory also highlights Beaulieu’s ongoing commitment to fostering STEM education, encouraging students to explore the intersection of science, technology, engineering, and creativity. For the students, it’s a moment of well-earned celebration; for the school and island, it’s a sign that Jersey’s young people are ready to take their place on the global stage of innovation.
Adding to the celebrations, Beaulieu teachers Abby Roberts and Catherine Seale were both recognised in the Teacher of the Year category for their exceptional contributions to digital education. Although they narrowly missed out on taking home the top award, their nominations reflect the incredible dedication, creativity, and leadership they bring to the classroom. Their commitment to inspiring young people and integrating digital skills into everyday learning has made a lasting impact on Beaulieu’s students and the wider school community.
A massive congratulations goes to all the members of Team Phoenix for their incredible achievement, and to the teachers and mentors who supported them throughout their journey. Thanks also to Digital Jersey for providing a platform that celebrates young innovators and helps nurture the island’s growing digital community.
With this award under their belts, Team Phoenix has set a high bar, not just for themselves, but for future teams looking to make their mark in digital technology and design. The future certainly looks bright for Beaulieu’s young innovators.
