Beaulieu Student Oju Takes First Place at IoD Jersey Future Leaders Awards

Year 13 student Ojashwi (Oju) Thapa has been awarded the prestigious First Place Trophy at the 2026 Institute of Directors (IoD) Jersey Future Leaders Awards, recognising her outstanding achievement in this year's programme.

Oju was named the overall winner of the IoD Jersey Future Leaders Scheme, securing first place ahead of students from across the Island. Her award included a placement with the Government of Jersey's Health Department, offering her a valuable opportunity to gain insight into leadership and the world of work within the public sector.

The Future Leaders Scheme, sponsored by KPMG in the Crown Dependencies, gives students the opportunity to spend a week shadowing a Director or Senior Manager, gaining first-hand experience of professional environments and developing an understanding of leadership, decision-making and different career pathways.

This year's scheme attracted unprecedented interest, with 142 students applying and 112 successfully completing the programme. Oju's first-place achievement is therefore a particularly fantastic accomplishment.

The awards ceremony took place at the Royal Yacht Hotel & Spa, where students were recognised for their participation and achievements alongside representatives from the organisations supporting the scheme.

Oju's success is a wonderful example of the ambition, initiative and potential of Beaulieu's Sixth Form students. We are incredibly proud of her achievement and look forward to seeing what she goes on to accomplish.

Congratulations, Oju!
